Gili Trawangan is the largest of three small islands or gilis,(dikes, banks) in the north-west of Lombok. Trawangan is the only dike that its height above sea level is significant. Wide with a length of 3 km and 2 km, Trawangan population of about 800 residents. Among the three Gilis, Trawangan has the various facilities for tourists; shop “Tir Na Nog” claims that Trawangan is the smallest island in the world which has Irish bar. The dense population is in the east of the island.
Trawangan has shades of “party” more than Gili Meno and Gili Air, because of the party all night every night, turned his show of some of the crowd. Popular tourist activities are carried out in Trawangan diving (PADI certified), snorkeling (on the northeast coast), kayaking and surfing. There are also some places for tourists to get to ride around the island.
On Gili Trawangan (as well as in two other banks), there were no cars, because
they are not permitted by local regulations. Common means of transportation are bicycles (rented from the local population for the tourists) and Cidomo, easy carriage, which is often in Lombok. Travel to and from the third dike, people usually use motorized boats and speedboats, surely already have travel insurance.
